BISP Service is to Remain Suspended
Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has decided to temporarily suspend cash disbursements to beneficiaries on the 24th and 25th of June 2023, Saturday and Sunday, in response to the ongoing heatwave affecting the country.
This decision was taken in the best interest of protecting precious lives, particularly women or children, from potential harm or inconvenience.
The move to close the cash disbursement from designated campsites comes after careful consideration of the recommendations from the relevant authorities.
Despite the adequate arrangements made by BISP, in coordination with provincial/regional governments and the partner banks, it has determined that existing measures not be sufficient to ensure the convenient and safe delivery of the funds to beneficiaries during the heatwave.

In addition to this, due to the absence of a prevailing educational trend in Pakistan, an educational scholarship initiative has been launched. This initiative bestows monthly scholarships upon extremely impoverished children under BISP 8171, enabling them to allocate these funds to support their studies.
Furthermore, given the increasing prevalence of polio and anemia diseases in Pakistan, the Benazir Development Program has been introduced. It extends assistance to pregnant women and children under two years of age.
Support is also extended to families facing emergencies. Under this program, families affected by the coronavirus and floods have received financial aid of twenty-five thousand rupees.
In the Benazir Income Support Program, quarterly installments of three months have been released from Jan to March. Now the next quarterly installment will be released in January.
